Outdoor horse rug

In wet and cold weather, outdoor rugs are ideal for keeping your horse warm and dry. Outdoor rugs are known for their waterproof properties, making them especially useful in autumn and winter.

Rug filling

QHP offers various types of winter rugs with different fillings and linings. Options include rugs without-, or with 50, 100, 150, 200, or 300 grams of filling, and some with fleece lining. The filling and lining needed depend on your horse, as some horses are less sensitive to cold than others. Horses clipped in winter may also require a heavier rug.

Outdoor rugs with and without necks

There are also differences in neck coverage—some horse rugs come with an attached neck cover for added protection from the cold, while others do not. The necks on QHP rugs are not always removable, so check the product specifications for details. Some rugs also come with a “half neck” design, which reduces pressure on the withers and helps keep out rain and wind.
